Glee catch up: Season 2 Part 2

After the break for Christmas, the members of New Directions that are in glee club and football are being pushed around and made fun of by their football teammates. In order to stop the bullying, Mr. Shu and Coach Beiste have the football team and the glee club do a performance together for the last game of the season's halftime show. At the same time, Sue is feeling bored with her life, and decides to spice it up with  some danger. She buys a canon for her next cheerios competition. The canon is extremely unsafe, and bows the dummy they used in the test to bits, but Sue is still insisting that Brittany be fired from it. When Mr. Figgins tells her she's not allowed to use the canon, Sue goes into a fit of rage and tells Quinn, Brittany, and Santana that they have to choose once and for all: glee club or cheerios? With some encouragement from Finn, they choose glee, leaving Sue without her three best performers. Unsurprisingly, Sue loses the competition. The glee club and the football team ended up doing a great performance, but when Finn talks to Dave Krofsky (the main bully who was so mean to one New Directions member, he moved schools) about joining glee club permanently, he laughs and says he's on top now that they won the championship game, so why would he want to change that? At Regionals, the New Directions decide to write their own songs. Rachel writes "Get It Right" about how she feels that she can never do things right. The rest of the club works together on the song "Loser Like Me" about how Sue treats them. Both great songs, and a wonderful performance earns them first place, which means they are going to Nationals in New York. At Nationals, they write their own songs again, but very unrealistically, they have no set list or choreography before even getting to New York, but manage to put on a great performance anyway. While in the bathroom before the performance, Rachel runs into Sunshine Corazon. Sunshine is looking very stressed out and says that due to the intensity of the Vocal Adrenaline coach, she doesn't even like singing anymore and was going to quit after this performance. Rachel is uncharacteristically nice to Sunshine and tells her not to worry about her coach and just do her best because she loves it. They hug and wish each other luck. Vocal Adrenaline does well and earns a spot in the top ten (the teams that move on to the next round), but the New Directions just miss it, getting 12th place. Though everyone is devastated, they are all happy to have gone and that they have next year to compete as well.
